Turkish veteran actor Can Kolukısa buried after funeral ceremony
Veteran Turkish stage and screen actor Can Kolukısa died at age 92 on 1 August. A memorial service was held at the İBB Şehir Tiyatroları Üsküdar Musahipzade Celal Stage, attended by his children Emrah Kolukısa, Deniz Chama and Joal Yasmin Chama, as well as numerous colleagues from theatre and cinema. After the ceremony, his body was taken to Göztepe Tütüncü Mehmet Efendi Mosque for the funeral prayer and then interred at Nakkaştepe Cemetery.
Born on 14 May 1934 in Eskişehir, Kolukısa began his acting career in 1953 with Istanbul University Youth Theatre, studied at the Sorbonne’s Theatre Institute, and performed with leading Turkish theatre groups such as Cep Tiyatrosu, Dormen Tiyatrosu and Halk Oyuncuları. He also appeared in many Yeşilçam films, leaving a lasting legacy in both theatre and cinema.
