Turkish Veterinary Medical Association reports surge in ministry employment

Ali Eroğlu, President of the Turkish Veterinary Medical Association (TVHB), announced that veterinary surgeons have become the largest group of new personnel recruited by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. This development marks a significant shift in employment trends for the profession.

Eroğlu also highlighted legislative progress, noting that amendments to Articles 41 and 55 of Professional Law No. 6343 were officially published in the Gazette on June 20, 2026. Additionally, the TVHB has transitioned into an authorized training institution for expert witnesses, having already issued certificates to over 400 members following training programs initiated in 2025.

Addressing ongoing challenges, Eroğlu noted that while employment is increasing, veterinary surgeons working in municipalities and private companies face discrepancies in their personal rights and benefits. The association is actively working with various ministries to resolve these issues.
