Turkey's education ministry sets June 26 as final school day and rolls out year‑end reforms
The Ministry of National Education (MEB) announced that the 2025‑2026 school year will close with the last lesson bell on Friday 26 June 2026. To mark the end of the term, the ministry prepared a “Culture, Art and Sport Activities Week” covering social, cultural, artistic and athletic programs for students in the final week.
MEB also scheduled the year‑end Zümre and Board meetings to be held online on 29 June (district level) and 30 June (province level). In parallel, the ministry published the “Climate Change Action Plan 2026‑2030,” outlining zero‑waste, recycling, rain‑water harvesting and green‑school initiatives across the country.
Additionally, the teachers’ union reported that the Ministry granted place‑change rights to teachers whose 2023 appointments were delayed for administrative reasons, confirming that the changes will be announced in a special circular before the summer break.
