Turkish Wrestler Özdenur Özmez Wins Gold at U17 World Championships in Baku

At the World Under‑17 Wrestling Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, Turkish wrestler Özdenur Özmez won the women’s 61 kg title, defeating United States competitor Landri Paige Von Gonten 10‑0 by technical superiority. Her victory added a gold medal to Turkey’s tally.

Turkey’s team finished the tournament with four medals: Özmez’s gold, Kıymet Rümeysa Tezcan’s silver in the 69 kg category, and bronze medals for Şirin Askara (40 kg) and another Turkish competitor. The championships concluded on 2 August, with the men’s freestyle events continuing thereafter.
