Turkish youth athletes secure multiple podium finishes in recent competitions

Turkish youth athletes achieved notable success in recent regional and national competitions.

In Manisa, Selçuklu Belediyespor’s water polo teams secured multiple honors at the U11 and U13 Federation Cup held between August 20 and 23, 2026. The U11 team finished as runners-up in Turkey after a final against ENKA Spor Kulübü, while Faruk Erdem Akyıldız earned the title of top scorer for the U11 category. The U13 team secured third place in Turkey after defeating Galatasaray 9-8 in the bronze medal match, with Mehmet Emir Erdoğan also being named the U13 tournament's top scorer.

In Istanbul, during the 39th Sadi Gülçelik Athletics Competitions held from August 17 to 22, 2026, Berat İşler of the Kayseri Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate achieved dual success. Competing in the U16 Boys category, İşler earned a silver medal as the runner-up in hammer throw and placed fourth in long jump.
