Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow Reviews Economic Gains at Cabinet Meeting

President Serdar Berdimuhamedow chaired a full cabinet meeting in Turkmenistan, where ministers presented reports on the country's economic performance for the first half of 2026. The review showed a 6.3‑fold increase in overall internal production, with notable growth in industry (2.7‑fold), construction (6.7‑fold), transport (10.4‑fold), trade (8.5‑fold) and services (8.4‑fold). 18.6 billion manat of core investments were recorded, a 4.3‑fold rise over the same period last year, directed mainly to industrial output (45 %) and social‑cultural facilities (55 %).

The finance ministry confirmed that the state budget was largely on target, with revenue and expenditure both exceeding 100 % of plan. Reports also covered the extraction of natural gas (39.147 billion m³) and oil (4.13 million t), as well as plans for new housing, industrial plants, schools and child‑care centers. Upcoming events include the "Awaza" tourism summit and consultations with the heads of state of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan.
