Turkmenistan and Pakistan seek to expand economic and energy cooperation
To mark the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, various events and diplomatic discussions have highlighted the growing strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Dr. Faryal Leghari, noted significant potential for expanding economic cooperation in sectors including natural gas, transport connectivity, textiles, construction, and pharmaceuticals. A central pillar of this energy cooperation is the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, which is viewed as a vital project for regional energy integration and Pakistan’s long-term energy security.
In addition to diplomatic outreach, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan hosted a scientific conference titled “Independence — the Pride of the Nation.” The forum brought together energy specialists and researchers to discuss the development of the energy sector, digital economy management, and the implementation of renewable energy sources and green economy initiatives.
