Turkmenistan celebrates the national Alabay dog breed

The People's Council of Turkmenistan has issued a congratulatory message to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in celebration of the Turkmen Alabay dog. The breed is recognized as a vital part of the nation's cultural heritage, alongside Akhal-Teke horses and traditional carpets.

The celebration highlights efforts to preserve the purity of the breed and promote its history. Archaeological findings at sites such as Altindepe, Gonurdepe, and Nisa have provided evidence of the long-standing historical connection between the Turkmen people and these dogs. Ongoing initiatives aim to protect the breed and share its cultural significance with the international community.
