Turkmenistan mobile banking transactions rise 140.7%

Mobile banking transaction volumes in Turkmenistan saw a significant increase of 140.7% year-on-year, reaching 71.1 million manat (approximately $20.3 million) between January and August 2026.

Data from the Central Bank of Turkmenistan indicates that Rysgal JSCB experienced the most substantial growth, with transaction volumes rising by 632.5% compared to the same period in 2025. Other notable increases were recorded by the Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank (SCBT) at 92.5% and the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs at 82.7%.

Conversely, some institutions saw declines, with Turkmen-Turkish JSCB reporting a 9.6% decrease and Halkbank experiencing a 91.2% drop in mobile banking transaction volumes.
