Turkmenistan mobile banking transactions surge by 140%

Mobile banking transactions in Turkmenistan experienced significant growth during the first eight months of 2026. The total volume of cashless transactions via mobile banking reached 71.1 million manat, representing a 140.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Growth rates varied significantly among financial institutions. The ‘Rysgal’ Joint-Stock Commercial Bank reported the highest surge, with mobile banking transaction volumes increasing by 632.5% year-on-year. Other institutions showing positive trends include the State Commercial Bank of Turkmenistan (92.5% increase), the State Foreign Economic Bank of Turkmenistan (82.7% increase), and the ‘Türkmenbaşy’ Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (19.7% increase).

Conversely, some banks saw declines in mobile banking activity. The ‘Halkbank’ Joint-Stock Commercial Bank reported a 91.2% decrease, while the Turkmen-Turkish Joint-Stock Commercial Bank saw a 9.6% decline.
