Turkmenistan Sets UN Agenda and Deepens Ties with Maldives
Turkmenistan announced its priority positions for the upcoming 81st United Nations General Assembly, emphasizing universal peace, security, preventive diplomacy and proposing a UN Decade of Dialogue and Preventive Diplomacy for 2027‑2037. The plan includes initiatives such as an International Code for the Peaceful Use of Artificial Intelligence, a Global Atlas of Sustainable Transport Connectivity, and the creation of several multilateral groups and academic centers focused on peace and neutrality.
In parallel, Turkmenistan’s ambassador to the Maldives, Shalar Geldynazarov, presented his credentials to President Mohamed Muizzu, reaffirming both countries’ commitment to expand cooperation in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields and to work together within international organisations.
