Turkmenistan strengthens UN ties and Caspian Sea environmental cooperation
Turkmenistan is emphasizing its commitment to international cooperation and sustainable development through strategic partnerships, particularly with the United Nations. As the country prepares for the year 2026, it aims to strengthen its role as a responsible member of the international community, focusing on global security, peace, and the goals of the UN General Assembly.
In addition to diplomatic efforts, Turkmenistan is prioritizing environmental protection in the Caspian Sea region. To mark the 20th anniversary of the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea, a scientific-practical conference titled ‘Protecting the Caspian Sea Ecosystem: Regional Cooperation and Sustainable Development’ was held in the Awaza national tourism zone. The event brought together government officials, scientific experts, and international diplomats to discuss the preservation of the sea’s biological diversity and its geopolitical and economic importance.
