Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital launches breast cancer awareness campaign
The Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital (TCI Hospital) has launched a month-long public awareness campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2026. The campaign, themed ‘Know. Check. Act. Support. – Early Detection Saves Lives’, is based on the hospital’s Ten-Year Cancer Register Profile covering 2016 to 2025.
Data from the register indicates that breast cancer remains a persistent healthcare issue in the community. While annual new registrations fluctuated, the total registered breast cancer caseload grew from 79 cases in 2016 to 192 by 2025. Recent figures show 181 cases in 2024 and 192 in 2025. The hospital emphasizes that these statistics highlight the need for sustained awareness, regular screening, and timely diagnosis throughout the year.
