Turku expands elderly care with new facilities

New elderly care options are expanding in the Turku region of Finland. The Untuva family home, located in Paimala, is set to open on November 1, 2026. This facility provides long-term family care for seniors who may experience loneliness, anxiety, or depression but do not require 24-hour institutional living. Founded by Mirva Janhonen, the home offers four resident places and focuses on personalized care at a resident's own pace.

Additionally, the Attendo Pläkkäri care home has been completed in Turku. This 25-unit facility provides round-the-clock care and is divided into two residential groups. The home features accessible studios, communal living and dining areas, and outdoor spaces including a large terrace and a fenced yard. The facility aims to provide a safe and personalized living environment for its residents.
