Turku parking trial tests wall-mounted space markings

Autoklinikka and Aimo Park conducted a trial at the P-Louhe parking facility in Turku to determine if extending parking space markings from the floor onto the walls would assist drivers. The experiment, held as part of Parking Week, aimed to reduce driver stress and improve spatial awareness.

Feedback from the trial was largely positive. Out of 18 drivers interviewed, 16 noticed the wall markings. Half of the respondents reported that the markings made parking easier, and none reported that the markings made the process more difficult. Additionally, 15 out of 18 participants believed the lines could facilitate reverse parking. However, the trial did not observe an actual increase in the number of drivers choosing to reverse into spaces.
