Turning Point USA film screening sparks student protests at GW

Student organizations at George Washington University have condemned a film screening hosted by Turning Point USA (TPUSA), labeling the event Islamophobic. The screening featured ‘Run Hide Fight: Infidels’, a film produced by The Daily Wire that has faced criticism for its perceived anti-Muslim rhetoric. At least 11 student groups, including the Muslim Students Association and the Arab Student Association, issued statements criticizing both the film and the university for allowing the event.

TPUSA at GW president Ryan Van Slingerland defended the screening, citing the importance of First Amendment rights and the necessity of engaging with speech that opposes campus norms.

In a separate development, The Daily Wire is reportedly filming a new action movie in Montana titled ‘Pawn Shop’. The project, a collaboration between Ben Shapiro and producer Dallas Sonnier, is described as a pro-ICE film dramatizing unrest surrounding Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis. The script reportedly depicts a confrontation involving an ICE agent and a character based on deceased protester Renée Good.
