Turnov opens biotope to public, releases animal‑found guidance

The municipal authority of Turnov announced that the Dolánky biotope will be opened to visitors after the fence is removed on 31 July. The site will feature public toilets, a kiosk, showers and new lighting. Access is limited to pedestrians, cyclists or e‑scooters and parking is available at the central lot on Na Lukách. The biotope, a natural water feature with filtration zones, is expected to welcome visitors in August.

The town also issued a step‑by‑step guide for residents who find stray dogs or cats within the city limits. Reports should be made to the Turnov municipal police (156) or the municipal environmental department (+420 481 366 153 / +420 737 214 249). Police will transport dogs to a capture facility, scan any microchip and record details, while cats are handed over to a local shelter. In cases of injury, veterinary care is arranged and may be funded by the city after a formal report.
