Chelmsford police cordon remains after city-centre stabbing

A major police cordon remains in place in Chelmsford city centre following a stabbing incident. The investigation has resulted in the closure of Duke Street in both directions, as well as parts of Wells Street.

The closure, which began shortly after 5:00 AM on a Saturday, has continued for more than 24 hours. Emergency services responded to the stabbing, which resulted in a man being hospitalised. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes due to expected delays on surrounding roads.
