Turtzioz and La Moza local festivals unveil program of events

The town of Turtzioz will open its August festivities on Friday, 14 August, with former Athletic Bilbao striker Andoni Goikoetxea serving as pregonero and launching the traditional txupinazo. The opening day includes a youth football match, a senior‑veterans game with a €200 prize, a “Sopa y Silbo” gathering, a popular barbecue, and evening concerts by Txapela Brava, Duo Camelados and the Eclipse macro‑discotheque. Bus services will also run on 22 and 29 August to connect Turtzioz with Bilbao’s Aste Nagusia.

Separately, the Peña La Moza association has published a detailed schedule for its multi‑day celebration from 25 to 28 August. Highlights include a morning chupinazo, a series of zurracapote tastings, contests for lomo with peppers, beer‑pong, paper‑airplane competitions, and DJ sets that run into the early hours. Musical performances by the charanga ASCAPE and the band De Norte will accompany the festivities, while family‑friendly activities such as a children’s league and an ice‑cream tasting are also planned.
