Turów Fund allocates 367 million CZK for water projects in Liberec Region
The Turów Fund has disbursed 367.3 million CZK to support 16 water management projects in the Hrádecko and Frýdlantsko regions. These initiatives aim to mitigate the environmental impacts of mining at the Polish Turów mine by securing drinking water supplies for local residents.
The total value of the planned projects exceeds 817 million CZK. As of August 2026, the Liberec Region's dedicated bank account holds over 646 million CZK, which has also accrued 168.2 million CZK in interest since 2022. In addition to the Turów Fund, investors have received significant subsidies from the State Environmental Fund and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Completed works include the reconstruction of the Machnín water treatment plant, a project costing nearly 112 million CZK. The Liberec Region has committed to co-financing further water management projects scheduled through 2030.
