TUSAŞ aims for another KAAN fighter jet flight this year

TUSAŞ General Manager Dr. Mehmet Demiroğlu announced that the next flight of the KAAN 5th-generation fighter jet is expected to take place within this year. Speaking at Kastamonu University, Demiroğlu highlighted that Turkey is one of only four countries capable of developing such technology, alongside the United States, Russia, and China.

Demiroğlu detailed the company's diverse production capabilities, which include the HÜRJET advanced trainer aircraft, HÜRKUŞ, ATAK helicopters, GÖKBEY, and various unmanned aerial vehicles such as ANKA, AKSUNGUR, and ANKA-3. He also noted the development of satellite technologies like TÜRKSAT-6A and İMECE.

Regarding international markets, Demiroğlu stated that Spain has expressed interest in purchasing 30 units of a TUSAŞ platform, with deliveries planned for 2028. He emphasized that by 2026, Turkey will possess 13 unique indigenous defense platforms, aiming for both domestic strength and significant export opportunities.
