Tuscaloosa arts venues announce upcoming productions and historical updates

The performing arts community in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is highlighting both upcoming productions and the historical significance of its local venues. Theatre Tuscaloosa has announced its 2026-27 season opener, a production of the comedy “Clue,” scheduled to run from September 25 to October 4 at the Bean-Brown Theatre on the Martin Campus of Shelton State Community College. Directed by Executive Producer Michael Walker, the production will feature a cast of returning performers and all-star members, utilizing body microphones for the first time to enhance audio clarity.

Additionally, the historic Bama Theatre continues to serve as a cultural landmark for the region. Since transitioning fully into an arts venue in 1968, the theatre has been managed by the Arts Council of Tuscaloosa. The venue provides a space for local arts, touring productions, and dance groups, while also offering engagement opportunities for college students and the broader community.
