Tuscany allocates 203,000 euros for SP329 road repairs

The Tuscany Region has approved a funding allocation of 203,237 euros for the restoration of the SP329 provincial road in Monteverdi Marittimo, located in the province of Pisa. The funds, sourced from the regional geothermal fund, are designated for repairs at kilometer 21+400, where the roadbed has been damaged by landslide movements.

The decree, signed by Regional President Eugenio Giani, modifies a 2018 program agreement to address safety concerns raised by an infrastructure oversight board. The Province of Pisa will act as the implementing body for the project. Currently, the executive design phase is underway to finalize the specific interventions required before construction begins.

President Giani noted that the funding illustrates how geothermal energy revenues can be reinvested into local infrastructure. He also referenced a broader agreement with Enel Green Power involving a 3 billion euro investment plan over twenty years, aimed at having geothermal energy meet 40% of the region's energy needs.
