Tuscany and Pisa open nursery school enrollment and subsidy applications

The Municipality of Pisa has opened online applications for municipal nursery schools for children born between May 1 and October 31, 2026. The deadline to submit applications via the municipal website is Tuesday, November 10, at 12:00 PM. Applicants must use digital identification such as SPID, CIE, or CNS. Children placed in the rankings will enter nursery schools starting in January 2027, once they have reached three months of age.

In the broader Tuscany region, the ‘Nidi Gratis’ program is reopening for applications from October 12 to October 26. This regional initiative provides subsidies to reduce costs for early childhood educational services, including nursery schools and play spaces. The program is available to families with an ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) up to 40,000 euros whose children reside in a Tuscan municipality. The regional government reported that over 14,000 applications have already been processed for the 2026/2027 academic year, totaling approximately 38.6 million euros in regional discounts.
