Tuscany and Umbria highlight Etruscan heritage and traditions

Cultural and culinary heritage in Tuscany and Umbria will be highlighted through upcoming media coverage and local events. The television program Linea Verde is set to premiere a new series on Rai 1 on August 16, 2026, titled ‘Gli Etruschi in tavola’. The journey explores the legacy of the Etruscans, featuring locations such as the thermal complex in San Casciano dei Bagni, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Pienza, and the artisan traditions of Cetona.

The program will also cover agricultural practices in Castiglione del Lago, including the cultivation of ancient legumes, and the traditional pairing of Pienza pecorino cheese with Montepulciano Nobile wine. Additionally, it will feature the ‘Teatro Povero’ tradition in the village of Monticchiello.

In Tarquinia, the 20th edition of DiVino Etrusco will introduce ‘Tratti DiVini’, a new watercolor painting workshop organized by Archeoares. Starting August 20, 2026, participants can use local wines as artistic pigments in sessions held near the National Archaeological Museum of Tarquinia. These workshops combine creative expression with local wine tastings.
