Tuscany announces 2026/2027 school calendar and new vocational courses

The Tuscany region has established the school calendar for the 2026/2027 academic year. Classes for primary, middle, and high schools are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, and conclude on Thursday, June 10, 2027. For nursery schools, activities will continue until June 30, 2027. Key holiday breaks include Christmas vacation from December 24, 2026, to January 6, 2027, and Easter vacation from March 25 to March 30, 2027.

In Lucca, two free vocational training courses (IeFP) will launch in September 2026 for students who have completed middle school. Funded by the Tuscany Region with ministerial and European Union support through the 'GiovaniSì' project, these courses aim to reduce school dropout rates. The programs, organized by the Per-Corso agency, offer training for hairdressers and waiters/waitresses. The three-year programs include tutoring, educational materials, and work-study components, with class sizes limited to 15 participants under the age of 18.
