Tuscany approves €103 million budget amendment boosting health and infrastructure

The Regional Council of Tuscany approved a second amendment to the 2026‑2028 budget, adding more than €103 million to the regional economic plan. The revision allocates €30 million for health, including €20 million to continue the expansion of the Cisanello hospital in Pisa, €6 million for co‑financing healthcare building projects, and funds for environmental remediation and long‑term care facilities. Infrastructure spending includes €5 million for the Signa‑Lastra bridge, €4 million for Fi‑Pi‑Li road maintenance, and additional millions for rail and tram links in Florence. The amendment also provides €10 million for cultural projects and covers roughly 80 of the region’s 273 municipalities.

Separately, the Tuscany regional government gave final approval to the Integrated Programming for the Area Vasta Sud Est (2026‑2028), a three‑year health strategy for the provinces of Siena, Arezzo and Grosseto. The program, endorsed by the Council’s Third Committee and regional executives, outlines coordinated actions between local health authorities and aims to improve service quality and resource efficiency for the local population.
