Tuscany celebrates cultural heritage and wine history

The Tuscany region is highlighting its agricultural and cultural legacy through various commemorations and tourism offerings. In the Montepulciano area, the Consorzio del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is marking the 400th anniversary of Francesco Redi, a 17th-century physician and poet whose work helped establish Tuscan wine in European history. A program of events, scholarship, and exhibitions related to Redi will continue through 2027.

Beyond wine, the region is focused on preserving olive oil traditions that date back 2,500 years while addressing modern climate change challenges. Tourism in the area remains centered on the landscapes of Florence, Siena, and Pisa, with an increasing emphasis on small group tours that offer personalized experiences in vineyards and historic cities.
