Tuscany expands proximity office network for judicial assistance
The Tuscany region continues to expand its network of ‘proximity offices’ (Uffici di prossimità), a service designed to make the justice system more accessible to citizens. These offices provide assistance with voluntary jurisdiction procedures that do not require legal counsel, helping individuals navigate complex paperwork and documentation without traveling to a central courthouse.
The network has recently reached a milestone with the opening of a new office in Scandicci, marking the 31st location in the region. This initiative is part of a national project promoted by the Italian Ministry of Justice.
Existing offices, such as the one in Pontedera, have already demonstrated significant utility. Regional data indicates that approximately 30,000 users have registered for the service, with over 36,000 digital files processed across the Tuscan network. These hubs serve as local reference points for guidance, document verification, and the submission of periodic reports to judicial offices.
