Tuscany exports grow significantly in first half of 2026

Tuscany's export sector showed significant growth in the first half of 2026, with regional exports reaching 43.67 billion euros, a 23.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This growth outpaced the national Italian average of 7.7%.

Within the region, Siena recorded a notable 28.8% increase in exports, totaling 2.82 billion euros. This performance places Siena third in Tuscany for export volume, following Firenze (16.43 billion euros) and Arezzo (14.22 billion euros). Arezzo demonstrated the highest percentage growth in the region at 80%.

In the food sector, the Consorzio Prosciutto Toscano DOP reported positive trends for 2026. Fabio Viani, president of the consortium, noted a 16% increase in production as of August and a 10% rise in the pre-sliced ham segment. The consortium highlighted that large-scale retail (GDO) remains the primary distribution channel, accounting for approximately 70% of sales.
