Tuscany guide dog school seeks foster families for Labrador puppies
The National School for Guide Dogs for the Blind in the Tuscany region is seeking volunteer foster families for eleven newborn Labrador puppies. The litter, consisting of six females and five males, was born to a mother named Leslie.
Volunteers are asked to host the puppies for approximately 18 months to assist in their early socialization and development. During this period, families will help the dogs become accustomed to daily environments, noises, and social interactions with people and other animals. The Tuscany Region will provide full financial support, covering all costs for food, vaccinations, veterinary visits, and supplies.
After the 18-month fostering period, the dogs will return to the school in Scandicci to continue their specialized training to eventually become guide dogs.
