Tuscany health report reveals regional disparities in medical services
The Regional Health Agency (Ars) has released Salute273, a new tool analyzing the health profiles of all 273 municipalities in Tuscany using 30 different indicators. The report aims to identify population needs and guide regional interventions.
In the Grosseto area, the health profile is categorized as 'to be consolidated' with a score of 41.92 out of 100. While the management of chronic diseases is a noted strength—ranking first in its district with scores for diabetes and ischemic heart disease remaining below critical regional thresholds—the report highlights significant challenges in mental health, maternal and child care, and local territorial services.
In the Valdarno region, the data shows favorable indicators for employment, education, and social conditions, though chronic disease management presents difficulties, with eight out of eleven municipalities falling into the 'to be strengthened' regional category. Within Valdarno, Rignano sull’Arno and Reggello emerged as the highest-ranking municipalities, being the only ones in the 'very favorable' category.
