Tuscany hosts cultural events in Chiusi della Verna and Montepulciano

In Chiusi della Verna, the “Ponte della Pace” (Bridge of Peace) is scheduled for inauguration on August 29. This 50-meter-long Tibetan bridge, funded by the Municipality of Chiusi della Verna and the Tuscany Region, will connect the Corsalone locality with the La Lappola hamlet. Designed to facilitate mobility for pilgrims, hikers, and cyclists, the structure provides safe access for wheelchairs and strollers while offering views of the surrounding landscape. The project aims to link the lower Casentino area with the Via di Francesco and the Casentinesi Forests National Park.

In Montepulciano, the Festa alla Maestà del Ponte will take place from September 2 to September 6. The festivities include music, gastronomy, and traditional games, culminating in the 43rd edition of the Palio dei Somari on September 6. Six districts will compete in the traditional donkey race. Additionally, a fundraising campaign has been launched during the event to restore an ancient wooden church door dating back to 1616.
