Tuscany prepares for return of rain and autumn weather
The stable weather pattern in the Maremma region is expected to shift as autumn conditions arrive. After a period of mild temperatures and sunshine, rain and thunderstorms are forecasted to return.
A transition phase will begin this weekend with increasing cloud cover and Scirocco winds. While initial instability may only marginally affect Tuscany, a more significant weather event is expected between Tuesday, October 20, and Wednesday, October 21. This change is driven by cooler air descending from Northern Europe toward France and subsequent Atlantic instability, which could bring widespread precipitation across the region, including coastal areas and the Tuscan Archipelago.
Currently, conditions remain mild with possible morning fog in inland plains, but the onset of more frequent rainfall and cooler temperatures marks a definitive seasonal shift.
