Italy tourism highlights geothermal energy, historical parks, and autumn foliage

Italy offers diverse seasonal and regional travel experiences, ranging from industrial innovation to natural landscapes. In Tuscany, the Enel geothermal district in the “Valle del Diavolo” attracts 60,000 tourists annually. This area produces 70% of the region's renewable energy and provides district heating to 13,000 residential users, while offering cultural sites like the Larderello Geothermal Museum.

Other notable destinations include the Monte Ceceri Historical-Natural Park in Fiesole, a 44-hectare site known for its ancient stone quarries and views of the Arno valley. For wellness and history, the southern Tuscan region near Saturnia, Pitigliano, and Sorano provides access to natural thermal springs and medieval tuff villages.

In northern and central Italy, the autumn foliage season is beginning early in the Alps and the Sila massif. Regions such as Trentino-Alto Adige, specifically Val di Funes and Val di Non, are expected to show seasonal color changes as early as late September.
