Tushar Gandhi labels public protests a no confidence motion
Tushar Gandhi, the great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, has criticized the current Indian government following his release from police custody in Mumbai. Speaking after being detained alongside other organizers, Gandhi stated that the ongoing public protests at August Kranti Maidan represent a ‘no confidence motion’ from the people against the Modi administration.
Gandhi alleged that the government is engaging in malpractice and vowed to continue weekly protests across India until certain leadership changes occur. He also addressed activist Sonam Wangchuk, urging him to move beyond rhetoric and take to the streets to ensure demands are met. Gandhi emphasized that the movement is also a fight for the freedom of the police and the protection of democracy.
