Tutor sentenced to seven years in prison for abusing student

The Provincial Court of Almería has sentenced a 35-year-old tutor to seven years and six months in prison for continuous sexual abuse against a 22-year-old student. The victim was performing professional internships under the defendant's direct supervision and evaluation.

The court found that the defendant exploited his position of authority, using the student's grades and future job prospects as leverage. The abuse occurred both in a server room at the workplace and at the defendant's private residence. As a result of the incident, the victim suffered severe post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety.

In addition to the prison sentence, the court imposed a 15-year prohibition on approaching or communicating with the victim. The defendant will also undergo eight years of supervised release following his prison term and must pay financial compensation for the damages caused.
