Tuulia Pitkänen releases book on her time as Sanna Marin’s assistant

Tuulia Pitkänen, the former special assistant to former Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, has released a new book titled ‘Älä kysy lupaa’ (Don’t Ask for Permission). The book provides insights into her years working closely with Marin during historically challenging periods, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the book, Pitkänen reflects on the international controversy surrounding Marin’s social life in 2022. She criticizes the media and public for believing unfounded drug allegations that emerged from leaked videos of the Prime Minister celebrating. Pitkänen suggests that foreign trolls may have played a role in amplifying these rumors to escalate existing scandals.

Following her tenure with Marin, Pitkänen worked as a senior advisor at the Tony Blair Institute before leaving to establish her own consultancy firm focused on public affairs. The book also touches upon the personal transitions Pitkänen has experienced following her departure from political life.
