Tuwaiq Academy and Google launch AI education initiative in Saudi Arabia
Tuwaiq Academy, in partnership with Google for Education, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has launched the ‘Albus’ initiative. This project marks the first time Google’s integrated educational technology platform will be utilized within technical gifted schools in the Middle East.
The initiative covers 10 technical gifted schools across five Saudi Arabian cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Medina, and Al-Qassim. It aims to support over 450 students, 100 teachers, and 15 certified trainers. The program integrates Chromebook devices, Google for Education tools, and Gemini artificial intelligence technologies to enhance learning outcomes and equip participants with future-ready technical skills.
Key partners including Lenovo and Intel are also involved in the execution. The launch included honoring certified trainers and teachers who earned professional credentials, such as the Google Certified Educator and Gemini certificates, recognizing their efforts in integrating digital technologies and AI into the educational process.
