Tuyên Quang expands cross-border tourism with China

Tuyên Quang province is actively promoting cross-border tourism cooperation with Văn Sơn prefecture in Yunnan, China. The initiative aims to expand international markets and connect tourism routes by leveraging the Thanh Thủy-Thiên Bảo International Border Gate.

By linking natural landscapes with cultural experiences, the cooperation seeks to facilitate travel to key destinations such as the UNESCO Global Geopark Dong Van Karst Plateau and Lũng Cú National Flag Tower. The two regions plan to focus on exchanging information regarding policies, markets, and tourism products through 2026, while enhancing cooperation in cultural heritage preservation.

In the first eight months of 2026, Tuyên Quang welcomed over 2.8 million visitors, reaching 70.3% of its annual target. This included 519,409 international visitors, with total tourism spending exceeding 7,878 billion VND.
