Tuyên Quang implements strict measures to prevent exam fraud

Authorities in Tuyên Quang are implementing strict measures to combat academic fraud and the 'achievement obsession' within the education sector. Following cheating incidents during the 2026 high school graduation exams at Tuyên Quang Specialized High School, the Provincial Party Committee has issued directives to ensure student assessments accurately reflect true abilities.

A re-examination for 328 candidates involved in the previous incident is scheduled for August 14–15. To maintain integrity, officials have appointed a provincial steering committee led by Vice Chairman Đỗ Anh Tuấn, utilizing personnel from unrelated educational institutions to oversee the process.

Broader reforms include reducing unnecessary exams and intermediate reports to alleviate pressure on teachers and students. The province also aims to optimize the public education network by adjusting staffing, increasing direct teaching staff, and strictly controlling extracurricular activities and tuition transparency.
