Tuzla Canton approves funds for 48 workers' pension contributions

The Government of Tuzla Canton has approved 223,967.53 KM to cover unpaid social contributions for 48 workers from six different companies. This measure allows these individuals to connect their years of service and fulfill the requirements to claim their pensions.

The affected workers come from companies that have undergone bankruptcy, liquidation, restructuring, or privatization. The specific companies included in the program are Fabrika obuće ‘Aida’ Tuzla, ‘Tehnika’ Lukavac, ‘Rudarinvest’ Banovići, ‘Elir Nikola Tesla’ Tuzla, ‘Fortuna’ Gračanica, and ‘Koksara’ Lukavac. The largest group of beneficiaries consists of 35 workers from ‘Koksara’.

Funding for this initiative is sourced from money generated during the privatization process, which is held in an escrow account at the Development Bank of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The government has issued the transfer order to ensure the financial conditions for these payments are met as part of a broader social care program for employees.
