The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Traffic of Tuzla Canton signed contracts with 18 non‑profit organisations to implement traffic‑related projects financed with roughly 33,800 KM. The money, collected from vehicle technical‑inspection fees, will support measures such as improving vehicle technical condition, enhancing traffic signalling, reducing accident rates and providing road‑safety education for children. The programme also includes the organization of bicycle, car and motor‑bike races.
Assistant Minister for Traffic Nenad Lukanović noted that about 270 project applications have been received in previous years and that the canton has already allocated more than half a million KM to similar initiatives. Muhidin Jašarević, president of the Drivers and Mechanics Association Tuzla, said the ministry is the strategic partner and general sponsor for the association’s 70‑year anniversary project. Zlata Smajić, president of the “New Women’s Initiative”, highlighted the “Stop child on the road” project, which will deliver two school workshops in September to teach children traffic safety.
