Tuzla Canton reports 3,700 asset declarations, flags unpaid mine fees

The Office for the Fight against Corruption and Quality Management in Tuzla Canton received 3,747 asset and gift declaration forms in 2025, split between public officials (1,744) and their close relatives (2,003). After issuing 160 written notices, all officials complied with the reporting law. The office opened 109 infringement proceedings, issued four orders in 2025, and concluded cases for 209 officials, finding no intentional false reporting. The European Commission’s 2025 report on Bosnia and Herzegovina highlighted this implementation as a positive anti‑corruption measure.

Separately, the Tuzla Canton government identified three coal mines—Kreka, Banovići and Đurđevik—as failing to pay overdue concession fees. While most concessionaires meet their contractual obligations, these mines were flagged for non‑payment. Authorities said monitoring of natural resource use will continue, with steps to increase concession‑system transparency, protect public revenue and consider further action against non‑compliant operators.
