Tuzla city council debates high fees for Winter in Tuzla festival

Tuzla City Council members are questioning a decision by the Tuzla Tourist Board to set participation fees for the ‘Winter in Tuzla’ 2026/2027 manifestation at 5,850 KM (including VAT) for hospitality vendors.

Council member Mensur Mujezinović has proposed reducing the fee to between 1,000 and 2,000 KM, arguing that the current cost places an undue burden on small businesses, artisans, and local entrepreneurs. He expressed concern that the high entry cost might prevent local providers from participating.

Other officials, including Omer Berbić, warned that these high costs could lead to increased prices for consumers. Calculations suggest the fixed rental cost amounts to approximately 272 KM per day, which may force vendors to raise prices for food and beverages to cover expenses, potentially making the event unaffordable for many local families.
