Tuzla launches youth sports project and Croatian official clears conflict of interest inquiry
In Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, a tripartite agreement has been signed to launch the ‘Mali sportisti Tuzle’ (Little Athletes of Tuzla) project. The initiative is a collaboration between the City of Tuzla, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at the University of Tuzla, and the ‘Naše dijete’ preschool institution. The four-year project aims to improve the health and motor development of preschool children through age-appropriate sports, balance exercises, and educational content regarding healthy lifestyles. The City of Tuzla will provide funding for transportation to ensure children can participate in activities at the Faculty and preschool facilities.
In Croatia, the Commission for the Resolution of Conflicts of Interest has determined that there are no legal obstacles for Modern Line d. o. o. to act as a subcontractor for the construction of a new fire station in Cres. Ivica Lukanović, the Prefect of Primorsko-Goranska County, is listed as a founder of Modern Line. The commission noted that because the contracting authority is the City of Cres rather than the Primorsko-Goranska County, the arrangement does not violate laws preventing public officials from entering business relationships with their own governing bodies. Lukanović had previously transferred management rights of his ownership stake upon taking office.
