Balkan region sees major infrastructure and healthcare developments

Various regional infrastructure, healthcare, and environmental initiatives are underway across the Balkans.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, major projects include the construction of a new public garage in Banja Luka, the development of the Mostar southern bypass, and the design of a massive 800 million KM university hospital complex in Zenica. Additionally, a consortium has been selected for supervisory services on the highway section toward the Croatian border, and a contract was awarded for highway lighting maintenance.

In Croatia, Zadar is updating its maritime domain management plan to improve beach accessibility for persons with disabilities. In the Vukovar-Srijem County, over 3 million EUR is being invested in medical equipment for primary and emergency healthcare. The Zlatarske avanture project was also recognized as a top example of cross-border cooperation between Slovenia and Croatia.

In Serbia, tenders have been opened for the reconstruction of a bridge over the Moravica river, and significant progress is reported at the University Clinical Center in Niš. Furthermore, plans are moving forward for a major highway connecting Kraljevo and Novi Pazar.

Environmental efforts include a large-scale tree-planting program in the Sarajevo Canton, where 4,000 students aim to plant 40,000 trees to promote ecological awareness.
