Tuzla Municipality deploys all-female team for heritage site maintenance

Tuzla Municipality has established a specialized four-person cleaning team composed entirely of women to maintain the 40 Pafta district. This area is a significant cultural heritage site, designated as an urban protected area in 1993 and a third-degree archaeological site in 1998.

Due to the narrow streets and historical architecture of the Cami and Postane neighborhoods, the municipality opted for a dedicated team to avoid the damage heavy cleaning vehicles might cause to historical facades and ground surfaces. The team will work daily from 06:30 to 15:30 to ensure streets and squares are cleaned before pedestrian and commercial traffic increases.
