Tuzla Science Center launches science outreach project in Batman

The Tuzla Science Center, an initiative of the Tuzla Municipality, has launched the ‘Tuzla ile Bilime Her Köy Yakın’ (Tuzla is Close to Science in Every Village) project. Supported by TÜBİTAK’s 4009 Support Program for Village Schools, a science team is traveling from Tuzla to Beşpınar village in the Beşiri district of Batman.

Scheduled for September 17 at Beşpınar Middle School, the event will feature 13 different science workshops, including activities such as DNA studies, coding, 3D design, rocket and landing module design, and electrical circuit design. The program aims to move beyond passive learning, encouraging students to explore science through experimentation, observation, and research.

In addition to the hands-on workshops, the program includes a science talk titled ‘Conceptual Misconceptions in Daily Life’ to address common scientific misunderstandings. Tuzla Mayor Eren Ali Bingöl emphasized the importance of the project in increasing scientific access for children in rural areas.
