Tuzla launches sea grass project to restore Marmara Sea

The ‘Dipte İz – Sea Grass Planting Project’ has been launched in Tuzla, Istanbul, to revitalize the Marmara Sea ecosystem. Led by Cemre Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Piri Reis University, Tuzla Municipality, and supported by Halkbank, the project aims to restore marine life by planting sea grass, which is described as the ‘lungs of the sea.’

A symbolic planting of 100 square meters was conducted during a launch ceremony attended by local officials and international delegates from the NexgenCOP30.5 program. Project advisor Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sarı noted that sea grasses are vital for the ecosystem and that marine life has already begun to show interest in the newly planted areas.

In separate news, Fenerbahçe Football Club has signed a sponsorship agreement with Cabir Holding. Under this partnership, the Cabir Holding logo will appear on the right sleeve of the team’s jerseys during domestic matches. Club officials stated the agreement is intended to increase the club’s brand value and competitive strength.
